「半小時」是half a hour,還是half an hour?你分得清嗎?

a和an傻傻分不清楚？不定冠詞a/an雖然表示的意思差不多，但是在用法上卻有很大的不同，多數同學還是存在問題的，今天我們就一起來區分一下不定冠詞a/an吧~

1、半小時

half a hour

half an hour

很多人都會認為只有 "a, e, i, o, u"這五個元音字母前才需要用不定冠詞an, 否則就是a。這是一個非常大的誤區。我們要透過現象看本質，單詞的第一個發音音標是元音還是輔音，發音是元音就用an，否則就是a.

而且如果沒有這個"n", "a hour" 的兩個元音[ - ar]就會粘到一起，不好讀。但如果是"an hour"， 就讀["nar]，這就很順口了。

例句：It's about half an hour's journey.

大約半小時路程。

2、他是個MBA

He is a MBA

He is an MBA

MBA 是[m]，也就是元音開頭的，別看到"m"字母就去用「a」，這還是一個讀音的問題。

註：MBA 即 Master of Business Administration (工商管理碩士)

3、每個人都可以是老師

Everyone can be teacher.

Everyone can be a teacher.

這裡的「老師」，並不是專有名詞，而是一種泛泛而談的「老師」，所以要加上"a」.

例句：Everyone can be a native speaker.

每個人都可以成為native speaker。

輔音若在詞首發，詞前只把a來加；

元音若在詞首放，詞前an不敢忘；

不定冠詞相當one，但不強調數觀念；
