ticker tape parade紙帶遊行，指一種特殊的慶祝活動。取得了重大成就而受人尊敬的人沿街步行或乘車遊行時，人們會通過高樓裡的窗戶向這些人拋小紙帶，以表慶祝。
這是一種紐約商業區，特別是曼哈頓華爾街區的傳統。在遇到有遊行發生時，從街邊的大樓裡面向外拋灑股票自動報價機打出的紙帶起鬨，給華爾街增添了繁華、熱鬧的景象。
ticker tape指的就是股票自動報價機打出的紙帶。在股票自動報價機Stock Ticker盛行的年代，很多公司都產生大量的電傳記錄紙廢紙，成為孵化紙帶遊行的最好條件。
20世紀60年代以來，電子顯示技術的普及使得電傳記錄紙退出歷史舞臺，出現人們無紙帶可拋的困境。而且，環保要求也不容許人們拋紙帶。
但紐約人捨不得拋棄這個傳統。於是，在紙帶遊行前，美國衛生部門會給各個辦公室送去大量廢紙條供人們拋灑，事後又派大量人力清掃。
