飛機從甘迺迪機場起飛，進入巡航階段不久遭遇雷擊，臨時決定前往波士頓緊急落地。這個視頻沒有太多熱鬧好看，但可以學到很多語言點。

學習筆記：
1、... and be advised the climbout is borderline moderate.
be advised是要向對方提供信息，與keep me advised方向恰好相反。
climbout離場爬升區。
borderline意思是邊緣，此處應該指降雨介於小雨與中雨之間。
2、管制員：So what you're showing in your vicinity at your heading is the lightest precipitation?
飛行員：Yeah, actually we are still in red and purples.
一看到show，可以判斷這不是飛行員目視觀測周圍天氣，而是從氣象雷達上讀出的信息。管制員在問：當前航向前方附近，雷達顯示的是小雨嗎？
飛行員先給出肯定回答。但聽到actually，可以知道飛行員又推翻了前面的肯定回答，然後補充說飛機仍然在紅色和紫色區域，顯然不是小雨。
3、OK, I'm just curious because what I'm showing on my screen is way worse than that.
我只是好奇，因為我屏幕上顯示的比小雨要嚴重得多。
漢語中我們習慣說，（氣象雷達）屏幕顯示的情況比小雨要嚴重得多。直譯成英語：
What is shown on my screen is way worse than light rain. (?)
What my screen is showing is way worse than light rain. (?)
但英語中這種結構見得比較少，下面這種以人作主語的結構倒是很常見：
What I'm showing on my screen is way worse than light rain. (√)
下文中甚至還有一個以地點作主語的：
Kennedy is showing thunderstorms.
氣象雷達顯示，甘迺迪機場附近有雷暴。英語中總是儘量迴避讓weather radar或radar screen作主語。
4、Jetblue 1731, you up?
you up? = are you up? = are you up on this frequency?
你在這個波道上嗎？
5、We are turning a heading of 110. What are you painting out there?
paint可不是畫畫，它與上文show意思是一樣的。這是在問管制員氣象雷達上顯示的天氣狀況如何。
6、You know. Our radar doesn't seem to be working very well. We're going through some heavy stuff with lightening right now.
並不是視頻中所有用法都值得模仿。這裡的stuff（東西）就是一個很寬泛的詞。需要根據上下文推理，才能知道heavy stuff是大雨的意思。直接說heavy rain / precip多好啊。
類似地，視頻中波士頓區域管制員的口頭禪是I don't know，不但佔用時間，還令人分神。這些不但不應該模仿，還要引以為戒。
7、We just took a bolt of lightening for Jetblue 1731.
看視頻之前我在想，遭遇雷擊究竟會用哪個詞？be struck還是encounter？沒想到是這麼簡單的一個詞：took！
a bolt of lightening意思是一束閃電。
8、What direction do you see the best weather for us to head to? We want to get to the clear ASAP.
我們往哪個方向飛天氣最好？我們想儘快到達沒有不利天氣的區域。
這裡的clear可是名詞啊，作賓語。
ASAP【'eisa:p】是as soon as possible的縮寫，但這個縮寫本身家喻戶曉，幾乎已經單獨成詞了。
9、Jetblue 1731, New York Center just told me to reach you out so that I can let you know that if you want to go back to Kennedy, they can give you a right turn direct.
tell sb. to do sth. 讓某人做某事
reach you out一般寫成reach out to you，意思是與某人取得聯絡
紐約區域管制中心剛讓我與你們取得聯絡，告知你們，如果你們想返回甘迺迪機場，他們可以讓你們右轉直飛（甘迺迪）。
不會組織複雜句，這麼複雜的意圖如何能表達清楚！
