The SSIS International Family Day is for you. The event that everyone looks forward to, the annual SSIS International Family Day will be held on Saturday, 28 May with gates opening at 9.00 am.
The day will kick-off with the Parade of Nations at 10.00 am. The Parade of Nations is a colourful spectacle of traditional costumes, national anthems and a little healthy rivalry. What will the Aussies wear this year?
If it’s home-style cooking you are after, then follow your nose to the food booths. This year delicious food and drink from 18 different countries including Italy, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA will be available plus local restaurants and cafes including the Harry’s Bar, Wawa Wewe, The Cottage Bakery Café, Bread Castle, Kiwi Craze and Snow White icecream.
Games can be found in the gym with Kuai toss, Plinko, face painting, obstacle course and the sponge toss, where a favorite teacher may be the target. Winners will receive a range of novelty prizes.
Looking for retail therapy? Over 100 vendors will be selling their wares. Everything from clothing to gifts to homewares to toys. The favourites will be there including U-Living, Bodyfit 25, Mandarin House, C2C Movers, and SharkNinja.
Shopped until you dropped? Take some time to relax and enjoy the entertainment at one of the two performance stages. The main stage will feature international cultural performances including Taiko drumming and Japanese dancing, Korean Taekwondo demonstration, Malaysian dance troupe, the Suzhou Youth Orchestra, SSIS Parent Choir and the always popular New Zealand and Pacific Islanders kapa haka (traditional Maori dance). 「The Sound Lounge」 will feature SSIS’s most enthusiastic bands as well as an open mic session.
Finally, make sure you bid on the country baskets and have your raffle tickets on hand. This year major raffle prizes include a hotel accommodation and dinner vouchers from Hyatt Regency, Pan Pacific, Regalia and Four Points by Sheraton, gym memberships, electrical appliances such as student lamps, vacuums, blenders and air purifiers, cinema tickets, jewelry, dental examinations, a foldable bike and much, much more.
