「call off」表示「取消，停止，中止」，（多用來指體育賽事）。

「crash course」表示「速成班，短訓班」。具體什麼樣內容的班，後面用介詞【in】引出。

此外這個短語還可以表示搞…名堂；想…念頭；If you do not know what someone is playing at, you do not understand what they are doing or what they are trying to achieve.

「a sight for sore eyes」表示喜歡見到的人(或物)；賞心悅目的事物 · a person or thing that you are pleased to see; something that is very pleasant to look at

「steer clear of」表示「避開，繞開（令人不快或危險的人或物）」If you steer clear of someone or something, you deliberately avoid them.
