Hello，大家好，我是娜塔莉。
今天我們繪本的題目是：「Olympic Adventure」 奧林匹克探險
What do you know about the Olympic Game?
The Olympic Games are the biggest sports meeting in the world, which include two kinds, the Summer and the Winter Olympics. Both of them are held every four years.
奧林匹克運動會 the olympic game 是國際奧林匹克委員會主辦的世界綜合性運動會 。每4年一屆，它是世界上規模最大、水平最高的運動會。
奧運會起源於古希臘，他的全稱是 「奧林匹克運動會」，因舉辦地點在奧林匹克而得名。「奧林匹克」 一詞源於希臘的地名 「奧林匹亞」，古人把這塊土地叫做 "聖地" 奧林匹亞，依當時的信念，它象徵著和平和友誼。
奧林匹亞所在的 伊利斯城邦國王 聯絡其他幾個城邦的國王，達成了一項協議，那就是：定期在奧林匹亞舉行運動會，並且規定，在運動會進行的那一年，實行 「神聖休戰日」。在這期間，任何人不得動刀發兵。這種賽會每四年舉行一次。這就是古代奧運會。
1894年6月，在巴黎舉行首次國際體育大會，正式成立了國際奧委會。第一屆現代奧運會於1896年在雅典舉行，以後每4年召開一次，直到今天還在繼續。期間有3屆因世界大戰被中斷。
今年，原本是 2020年東京奧運會，無奈新冠肺炎肆虐，將其改至2021年，也就是明年舉行。

讓我們回到繪本。

"Tomorrow we will go to the museum and next week it's sports day,"said Mrs May.

「明天我們要去參觀博物館，下周要舉行運動會了,"May老師說。

She was holding a picture of Olympice Flag.
Five ring flag means five continents.
The five rings stand for friendship, of five continents.

"Everyone can enter a race on sports day,"said Mrs May.
「運動會那天每個人都可以報名參加比賽，」 May 老師說。
"I think the girls should have a sewing race!"laughed one of the boys.
sewing 就是 「縫紉/做針線活」，我們引用音樂之聲的一段歌詞作為解釋：
sew, a needle pulling thread（嗦，是穿針又引線）
一位男生譏笑著說：「我覺得女生應該舉行女工比賽。」
Is sewing a sports game?
No. I don't think so.
But why did he say "The girls should have a sewing race." ?
Do you think it's a good idea?
Chip grined.
Aneena was cross.
"It's not fair."
After school,Anneena and Wilma went to play with Biff.
放學後，Anneena 和 Wilma 去找 Biff 玩。
Aneena was cross.

Why did she get cross?
「Some boys are so silly,"she said.
「男生真是愚蠢透頂，」 她說。
They thought the girls were not strong enough to join the real game.

The magic key began to glow.

Because the Olympic games started in Greece.
A boy was calling to the villagers.
一男孩對村民們喊話。
"Follow me to the games,"he said.
「跟我去看運動會啊，」他說。
"Can we go too?"asked Biff.
「我們也可以去嗎? "Biff 問。
"Anyone can come!"said the boy.
「As long as they are male."
male 是 「男人」
female 是 「女人」
男孩說：「任何人都可以來! 只要是男性就行。」
That means girls and women were not allowed in.
Why not?
Was this fair?

The men and the boys from the village went to the games.
「It's not fair!"said Aneena.
Aneena was cross.
"Let's follow them,"said Biff.
村裡的男人和男孩子們都去觀看運動會了。
「這不公平!」 Aneena 說。
「我們跟著他們，」 Biff 說。
Outside the games,there were lots of guards.
They only let men and boys in to the games.
"We'll never get in,"said Biff.
運動場外面有很多門衛把守著。
他們只允許成年男性和男孩子們進入。
「我們根本進不去，」 Biff 說。
The girls are cross when they can't get in to the Olympic Games.

「I wish we could see!"said Wilma.
Anncena had an idea.
"Let's climnb a tree,"she said.
「多希望我們也能觀看運動會啊！」Wilma說。
Anneena想到一條妙計。
「我們爬到樹上看，」她說。
The girls climbed an olive tree.
What did they see on an olive tree?
They could see the games,They watched a race.
Lots of men ran with shields.
她們爬到一顆橄欖樹上。
這樣，她們可以觀看運動會了。她們觀看著比賽。
許多男子拿著盾牌在賽跑。
It's different from the Olympic Game nowadays?

The winner won a prize.
The prize was a vase.
A man put a crown on the winner's head.
獲勝者贏得獎品。
獎品是個花瓶。
一名男子把王冠戴在獲勝者的頭上。
Instead of the medal, the winner won the vase.
Then the girls watched some men throwing discs as far as they could.
Just then，
"Hey you!"shouted a girl,
as far as they could 就是 「越遠越好」
她們看到幾名男子在用力投擲飛盤。
就在那時，一個女孩喊道：「你們兩個!」

The girl was under the tree.

"If anyone catches you here.you'll be in for the high jump!"she said,
"be in for the high jump" means "to be certain to be punished"
意思是：必定要受到懲罰
「如果有人在這裡抓到你們，你們會受到懲罰的!」她說。
"Then,why are you here?"asked Biff.
"I'm picking olives,"said the girl.

"My name is Hera.
You'd better come with me to the village."
「那你為什麼在這裡啊?」Biff問。
「我在摘橄欖，」女孩說，
「我叫赫拉。你們最好跟我到村裡去。」
