Xiamen Metro Construction Site Collapses, Residents Evacuated

Part of the construction site between Jiangjunci Station and Wenzao Station of Xiamen Metro Line 1 collapsed early this morning.

Part of the construction site between Jiangjunci Station and Wenzao Station of Xiamen Metro Line 1 collapsed at about 3:00 a.m. today. No casualties were reported.

The Xiamen Metro Construction Group launched an emergency response plan after the collapse and evacuated nearby residents. According to the investigation, underground water pipes ruptured due to the sedimentation of the gravel bed at the site, which caused the collapse.
