You can say, tea (masala chai) is the national drink of India. India is largest producer and consumer of Tea. It is also second largest exporter of Tea after China. In 2012 state of Assam declared tea as, 「State drink」.

Preparation methods and ingredients used differs region wise. 1.半杯水
2.半杯牛奶(預煮)
3.1茶匙糖(粗糖或蜂蜜可代替白糖)
4.瑪薩拉茶(丁香、小豆蔻、黑胡椒、肉桂、乾薑和肉豆蔻的混合物)
5.紅茶粉
1. ½ cup water
2. ½ cup milk (pre boiled)
3. 1 tea spoon sugar (jaggery or honey can replace sugar)
4. Chai masala (mixture of cloves, cardamom, black peppercorn, cinnamon, dried ginger and nutmeg)
5. Black tea powder
準備方法。
把水加熱到沸騰。加入瑪薩拉茶和茶粉,待茶粉沉澱後加入煮過的牛奶。把混合物慢煮幾分鐘,馬薩拉茶就可以飲用了。
Method of Brewing.
Heat water until it starts to simmer. Add chai masala and tea powder, add pre boiled milk once tea powder gets settled. Let the mixture simmer for few minute and your masala tea is ready to be served.
