一說起「美元」，
大部分人第一個想到的就是「dollar」，
有些人還形象地稱其為「美刀」。
其實，美國人更愛用另外一個詞來表達。

美元地道表達
美元除了我們知道的「dollar」，美國人更常用到「buck」這個一詞，a dollar(一美元)也等於a buck。
Buck的原本意思是「公鹿」，在美洲殖民時期，土著們用buckskin（鹿皮）來充當貨幣，久而久之，buckskin便用來指代貨幣的基本單位，也用以代指後來的「美元」，並簡寫為buck。
直到今天，buck也是美國人最常用的美元表達方式之一。
例句：
They cost me ten bucks.
這些花了我十元錢。
Why can t you spend a few bucks on a coat?
你為什麼不能花幾美元買件外套呢？
dollar/buck在口語裡面還經常用來表達
「贊爆的東西」
look like a million bucks
看起來像一百萬美元？
