這是個來自20世紀70年代的口語用法。有趣的是，digt除了「了解某事，搞懂某事」外，也有「享受某事」的意思。舉例來說，如果有人送了你一張專輯，你聽著覺得很不錯，對方問你喜不喜歡時，你就可以回答：I'm really digging it！這時，dig就不是「挖掘」或「了解」的意思，而變成了「非常喜歡」。

看看下面對話，看老外是怎麼用這個dig的：

A: Right, so here's the plan: You distract Mina, while I place this love letter in her locker.Can you dig it?

好，計劃是這樣的：你引開米娜的注意，而我把這封情書放進她的置物櫃。懂了嗎？
