最近，《新聞聯播》連上微博熱搜。「噴飯」 「滿嘴跑火車」 「躲得過初一，躲不了十五」 「腳底抹油」等活潑、幽默、鮮辣的新話風不僅在國內獲得一片好評，也被《華爾街日報》、《紐約時報》、BBC、CNN、Fox等媒體頻繁引用。不過，當中許多妙詞金句難倒了翻譯人員。漢語是高語境的語言，形象生動，搖曳生姿，意味深長，甚至引經據典，但是直譯成英文或多或少會喪失原有的味道。那麼，在新聞翻譯中，我們只要將最重要的信息準確無誤地傳遞出來，就達到了交際的目的。
例1：「噴飯」
這可不能直譯哦，應該意譯為「laughable」 or「choke with laughter」。
Eg. His performance made people choke with laughter.
他的表演令人噴飯。
擴展：choke with … 在表達情緒情感的時候，還可以用在如下短語中：
Eg. choke with anger: 氣得無語
Eg. choke with sobs: 哽咽
Eg. choke with emotion: 激動得說不話
Eg. choke with tears: 痛哭失聲
例2：「滿嘴跑火車」
實際意思是「滿口胡言」，英文中有個對應詞叫「crap」，所以整句話可以翻成"You're full of crap."
擴展：關於crap一詞的相關用法，可以做個延伸，其意為：廢話，廢物；劣質的東西，等等。
Eg: That's a lot of crap.
那簡直是一派胡言。
Eg: His speech was a load of crap.
他的演講通篇都是廢話。
Eg. Why do you people still watch that crap?
為什麼你們這些人還看這些垃圾劇?
例3：扎輪胎
這個詞意思是：復仇， take revenge.
那麼，英文中「復仇」有幾種說法呢？
1. take revenge on sb;
2. retaliate against sb
3. in retaliation for...
4. avenge oneself on sb/sth;
5. take or get revenge on sb/sth
6. have one's own back on sb.[口語]
eg. Revengeoften recoils on the avenger.
報復者常常自遭報應。
eg. The strikers provoked the police to retaliate .
罷工者激怒警察進行反擊。
eg. I'll find a way of getting back at him!
我一定設法報復他!
例4：滿地找牙
漢語中，完整的說法通常是「打得滿地找牙」；英文的說法是「打到真魂出竅」：beat the living daylightsout of you. 此處，複數形式的daylights ，是「理智」「生命」的意思，可傳遞出等值的意義。短語「scared the daylights out of sb.」意思是：嚇得魂飛魄散。
Eg. That sudden scream at the mid- night scared the daylights out ofme.
深更半夜突如其來一聲尖叫把我嚇得魂飛魄散。
