Goubuli, the iconic Tianjin-based Chinese bun maker, terminated its collaboration with its franchised restaurant in Wangfujing on Tuesday after a video complaining about the establishment's subpar products and services went viral on Chinese social media.
近日，一段吐槽中國著名包子品牌天津狗不理包子的食品和服務名不副實的視頻在網絡走紅。9月15日，狗不理集團解除與涉事方王府井店加盟方的合作。
A food video blogger who goes by the name "Gu Yue" posted a video on his Sino Weibo on Sept 8. It complained in detail about overpriced food at the restaurant.
事件起因是9月8日，美食視頻博主@谷嶽在新浪微博上發布了一則視頻，吐槽該店定價過高。
On Thursday, the restaurant issued a statement denying the allegations and criticized the blogger and other accounts that reposted the video for tarnishing the brand's reputation.
9月10日，王府井狗不理店發布聲明稱，該視頻所有惡語中傷言論均為不實信息。
The statement sparked public debate on the relationship between customers and established brands, prompting Tianjin Goubuli Group Corp to issue a statement on Tuesday apologizing for the incident and criticizing the Beijing restaurant for taking matters into its own hands.
該聲明引發了公眾對消費者與知名品牌關係的熱議。天津狗不理集團15日發表聲明，就該事件道歉，並責令北京王府井餐廳自行處理此事。

那麼，「狗不理」用英文該怎麼說呢？
細心的小夥伴已經看到了上文的報導中使用的是Goubuli，我們從官方logo上可以看到使用的是Go Believe，這兩個譯法都是可以的。

那麼，這個官方翻譯「Go Believe」是怎麼來的？
這還要從十幾年前說起，當時正值北京奧運會前夕，天津市為推廣本地的特色小吃品牌搞了一個「給咱好館子起個洋名字」的活動。
李先生的「Go Believe」直觀好記，一舉奪魁。雖然「Go Believe」在意思上跟「包子」沒關係，但是發音卻是無限接近，而且「Go Believe」在寓意上暗含你不會後悔的意思，至於後不後悔，只有吃過的人才知道。
2007年10月，天津狗不理集團正式將「Go believe」註冊為「狗不理」的英文名。
此後十年間，網友腦洞大開，掀起了一波「菜名英譯小高潮」，例如：
牛肉拉麵是 new role，last man
魚香肉絲蓋飯是 you share rose get fun
桂林米粉是 great me fun
蒜薹肉絲是 sweet time rose
土豆牛肉是 to do a new role
西芹百合的更是絕了，see king buy her
那麼這些中餐的英文名真是這麼說的嗎？
北京市相關部門曾經編制的《中文菜單英文譯法》一書，規範了中文菜單的英文譯法，分別對中餐、西餐、飲品進行了標準的英文翻譯。
其中將曾飽受爭議的童子雞「Chicken without sex」正名為Spring Chicken；四喜丸子也從Four glad meat balls改為Braised Pork Balls in Gravy；魚香肉絲則音譯加意譯為Yuxiang Shredded Pork。
據北京外國語大學教授陳琳介紹，在進行中餐英譯時，多數中餐菜品會遵循以主料為主、配料為輔的翻譯原則；以烹製方法為主、原料為輔的翻譯方式也較為多見。
還有一些菜名以形狀口感為主，如脆皮雞是Crispy Chicken。
另外一些體現中餐特有的食品則是漢語拼音命名或音譯，如包子、豆腐、雜碎、佛跳牆、驢打滾兒。
