Respectively是重新提及二個以上的人或者事物，但提及的順序是嚴格按照之前提及或者設定的順序。如果給定兩個列表，respectively將按照給定的次序對輸入順序進行配對。在使用respectively時，作者可以同時給出大量信息而不會讓讀者感到費解，也不用寫幾個短句。Respectively一般用在句末。無論什麼情況，要用到respectively就表明信息被提及的順序對於句子意思的表達很重要，否則它不會被用到。
