「三伏天」來臨，全國多地開始進入「蒸煮模式」。
三伏天，通常處於小暑與處暑節氣之間，包括頭伏、中伏和末伏，是一年中氣溫最高且又潮溼、悶熱的日子。今年的三伏天從7月16日開始，持續40天，真真是「加長版」了。
頭伏10天：7月16日~7月25日
中伏20天：7月26日~8月14日
末伏10天：8月15日~8月24日
那麼，三伏天用英文該如何表達呢？

一般情況下，我們可以直接使用拼音來表達，後面對其進行簡單的解釋說明。
比如，
sanfu, the hottest and dampest period of summer
三伏天，夏天中最炎熱潮溼的階段
sanfu, the hottest time of the year
三伏天，一年中最熱的日子
因此，「入伏」這一天也就可以表達為the first day of sanfu。
來看一個例句：
Chinese people embraced the first day of sanfu, the hottest and dampest period of the year, on Thursday in unique ways across the country.
周四，全國各地人民以一種特別的方式迎接入伏，三伏天是一年中最炎熱潮溼的時候。
dog days (of summer)
在一些文章中，也會把三伏天叫作「dog days (of summer)」，這又是怎麼回事兒呢？
Sanfu, also called China's "dog days of summer", refers to three 10-day periods that are predicted to have the hottest days of the year.
其實在英語中，dog days專門來形容北半球7、8月這段最熱的天氣。
根據韋氏詞典，dog days即指7月初到9月初，北半球天氣悶熱潮溼的這段時間：
the period between early July and early September when the hot sultry weather of summer usually occurs in the northern hemisphere
sultry [sltri]：悶熱潮溼的
hemisphere [hemsfr]：半球
也有人開玩笑說，這段時間的天氣把狗都熱得趴在地上直喘氣，所以就叫dog days了。

但其實，這個有趣的表達與天狼星（Sirius）有關。
古希臘人認為大犬座（Canis Major）是一隻狗在追逐兔子（也就是天兔座，Lepus）。而天狼星是狗的鼻子，因此稱它為"狗星"（dog star）。
The ancient Greeks thought of the constellation Canis Major as a dog chasing Lepus, the hare. The star Sirius is the dog’s nose; the Greeks called it the 「dog star.」
古希臘人和古羅馬人曾迷信地認為，7月末，當天狼星（dog star）恰好在日出前出現在天際時，「dog days」也就到來了。他們認為這段時間是一年中最熱的時候，可能會帶來一些災禍。

不過，美國國家地理也指出，因為緯度不同，各地天文學意義上的「dog days」到來時間也會有所不同。
Although July and August are generally known as the hottest months of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, the hottest period can vary from year to year. And depending on your latitude, the astronomical dog days can come at different times.
雖然7月和8月一般被稱為北半球一年中最熱的月份，但每年最熱的時期都會有所不同。且根據緯度的不同，天文學上的「三伏天」也會在不同的時間到來。
三伏天養生tips
防中暑
三伏天連續高溫（hot spell），外出要做好防曬措施，以防中暑（heatstroke），同時也要及時補充水分。
Dangerously high temperatures can result in heat-related illnesses like heatstroke.
嚴酷的高溫可能會導致中暑等疾病。
注意鍛鍊時段
天氣再熱也要堅持鍛鍊，但室外運動要注意不要中暑，儘量避開上午10點至下午4點這個時間段，最好選擇在晨間鍛鍊。
冬練三九，夏練三伏
In winter, keep exercising during the coldest days. In summer, do the same thing during the dog days.
保持清淡飲食
「夏季暑溼，適宜清補」，注意飲食，不宜吃過多冷飲，可以多吃些新鮮果蔬。
調整作息
夏季晝長夜短，比較適宜「晚睡早起」，這並不是說要熬夜，而是要順應季節晝夜變化的特點適當調整作息時間。中午小憩一會兒，也有助於恢復精力哦。
