Taipei-famous vegan chef Vivian Chang has scouting locations to open Miss Green for some time. Meanwhile, she’s been organizing plant-based luncheons, dinners, and pop-ups in Shanghai for nearly a year, from the first luncheon at Mito to an upscale Sichuan-inspired vegan dinner at The Peacock Room.
Miss Green is currently running a month-long (all December) plant-based lunch menu at Roast & Wine Merchants on Yanping Lu.
Heads up to the vegan and vegetarian community in Shanghai—this is one pop-up you need to try.
The Roasted Cauliflower (¥68) is afavorite. It’s a whole head of cauliflower seasoned and flavored with white pepper, rosemary, garlic aioli, and miso sauce.
A hearty plate of Roasted Veggies (¥48) presents crispy chickpeas and glaze-lacquered baked carrots garnished with caraway and lemon.
Roasted VeggiesI would definitely return for the Cauliflower Taco (¥38). It’s a single taco with chunky toppings of roasted cauliflower and chickpeas, guacamole, aioli, paprika, and fresh lime. Plenty of flavor.
Avocado Toast (¥58) – Avocado and mushrooms served on fresh baguette with garlic and mango chutney is a tasty filler.
Buddha Bowl (¥58) – Roasted potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, arugula, and tofu with vegan spring onion cream cheese served on a halved bagel.
The menu is currently being served all December long during lunch hours at Roast.
