實用口語表達
love child 不是愛孩子
love child 私生子
a child who is born as the result of a relationship between two people who do not marry each other
這裡的 love 並不是動詞，而是用來修飾 child 的， love child 不是動賓結構，直譯為愛孩子就錯了。
其實，love child 的父母並沒有法律上承認的婚姻關係，love child 就是身份尷尬的私生子。
wedlock [wedlɑk] n. 婚姻；已婚狀態
children born out of wedlock 私生子女；非婚生子女children born in wedlock 婚生子女在西方人眼裡，婚姻好比是一把鎖，已婚的人肯定要受到一些束縛。
wed 是結婚，lock 是鎖，wedlock 的意思就是已婚狀態.
婚生子女就是 children born in wedlock，非婚生子女也就是 children born out of wedlock.
Jack is a love child
and he have not seen
his natural father since 2012.
傑克是個私生子，從2012年起，
他就沒見過自己的親生父親了。
inner child 是裡面的孩子嗎？
inner child童心
Your inner child is the part of your personality that still reacts and feels like a child
很多人長大成人後，內心深處還是會住著一個小孩，這就是我們的童心。始終都保持童心的人，生活也會更開心。
inner 有內心的意思，童心翻譯成 inner child，可以說非常準確了。
young at heart 心態年輕
要表示一個人心態很年輕，我們可以用上 young at heart.
Mary hopes that her son can
always get in touch with his inner child.
瑪麗希望她的兒子可以一直保持童心。
brainchild 點子
brainchild[brentald]
n. 點子；主意；發明
大部分人只會把想法翻譯為 idea ，其實我們還可以說 brainchild.
我們常說孩子是愛情的結晶，好點子也可以說是人們智慧的結晶，即腦力勞動的產物，所以 brainchild 不是大腦裡的孩子，而要理解為點子或想法。
child 的複數形式是 children，所以 brainchild 的複數就是 brainchildren.

hit the nail on the head說中要害；說到點子上了
說到點子上了就是直中要害，頭被打了不就是要害被擊中了嘛，hit the nail on the head 不是在頭上釘了個釘子，而要理解為說到點子上了。
be to the point 切中要點的；切題的
說到點子上了也有個簡單的短語——be to the point，你的意見說到點子上了就是 your opinion is to the point.
