This 15-year-old boy broke his collarbone while playing soccer. He noted a superior visual field loss the next morning. His visual acuity was 20/25 and the superior half of the macula was perfused via a cilioretinal artery while the rest of his retina was opacified from occlusion of his central retinal artery (A). Autofluorescence imaging showed altered fluorescence from the opacified retina (B). A transesophageal echo revealed a persistent foramen ovale, which led to the paradoxical fat embolus from the fractured clavicle.
15歲男性患者，足球運動時鎖骨骨折。次日上午出現上方視野缺損，視力0.8。黃斑的上半部分由睫狀視網膜動脈供血，視網膜中央動脈阻塞使得其餘視網膜均不透明（A）。自發螢光可見阻塞區域的視網膜不透明（B）。經食道超聲顯示此患者患有卵圓孔未閉，所以鎖骨骨折後導致了反常的脂肪栓塞。
