在看美劇的時候聽到這樣一句話：
She』ll go bananas if she sees the house in this dirty condition.
很明顯，這句話難點在於go bananas。"banana"是「香蕉」，go bananas是什麼意思呢？
從整句大意來看，「如果看見房子這麼髒，她會....」。可以猜測，應該是「生氣」的意思。
查閱權威詞典，看到這樣的釋義(見下圖)：
go bananas: become very excited or angry
那麼上面那句話意思就很明確了：
She』ll go bananas if she sees the house in this dirty condition.
如果看到房間髒成這樣，她會發瘋的。
再來看幾個樣例：
If I’m late again my Dad』ll go bananas.
再遲到的話，我爸會很生氣的。
I'll end up going bananas if I have to work in this company for one more day!
如果我必須在這家公司多工作一天的話，我一定會瘋掉的。
實際上，由水果構成的習語還有很多，例如apple：

2: apples and oranges 蘋果橘子兩碼事；截然不同
例如：
