農曆九月初九就是傳統的重陽節,又稱登高節,民間還有重九節、茱萸節、菊花節等說法。
東漢時期,有個人叫桓景,他跟隨道士費長房學道。
一天,費長房提醒桓景,九月九日這天,他家會發生災禍,全家人必須外出登高避禍。每人要佩戴一個絳色的囊袋,裡面裝上茱萸,系在手臂上,同時飲菊花酒,才可躲開災禍。桓景帶著家人,一一照辦。
晚上回家後,桓景發現災禍果然降臨,牲畜全都離奇死亡,但家人都倖免於難。這個神奇的故事流傳開來,人們紛紛在重陽節這天登高、飲菊花酒、佩茱萸袋,以求躲避災禍。

民俗活動有哪些?
據文獻記載,早在戰國時代重陽節時民間就有登高、飲菊花酒的風俗,作為節日,當在西漢時期。重陽節這一天的活動豐富多彩,一般包括出遊賞景、登高遠眺、觀賞菊花、遍插茱萸、吃重陽糕、飲菊花酒等。
習俗一: 登高(Climbing Mountains)
People like to climb mountains on this festival, so Double Ninth Festival is also called 「Mountain-climbing Festival」.
人們喜歡這個節日去爬山,所以重陽節又被稱作「登高節」。

Chrysanthemum originated in China and was recorded in some Chinese books as early as the 5th century B.C. Chrysanthemum blossom in the ninth lunar month have a beautiful name of 「flower of longevity」.
菊花產自中國,最早記載始於公元前5世紀。菊花在陰曆九月盛開,它有一個美稱「長壽之花」。
習俗三:飲菊花酒 (Drinking Chrysanthemum Flower Wine)
The chrysanthemum flower wine is unique in brewing. In ancient times,people usually picked fresh chrysanthemum flowers and leaves on the 9th of the 9th lunar month, and brewed the mixture of them and grains into the wine, which would not be drunk until the same day next year.
菊花酒的釀造十分獨特。古時,人們在農曆九月九日採摘新鮮的菊花和菊花葉,然後把它們和穀粒一起釀製成酒,等到來年的同一時候再打開品嘗。
習俗四:插茱萸(Wearing Dogwood)

茱萸為長青喬木。該植物具有濃香,它的果實可食用或幹存。它的葉子可以用作藥材。茱萸具有驅蟲去溼,助消化去內熱的功效。
習俗五:吃重陽糕(Eating Double Ninth Cake)
The Double Ninth cake is also known as 「chrysanthemum cake」or「flower cake」.
重陽糕又名「菊花糕」或「花糕」,它的歷史可追溯到周朝。相傳,最初人們是為了慶祝秋收而製作重陽糕的。
