我們目前正經歷一場的「生物革命」,其中有關生物學和醫學的新知識已為數百萬生命帶來了轉機。這一點我們可以通過對近年來可植入材料的技術開發中得到更直觀的認識,可植入生物材料(Biomaterials for Implants)在治療甚至診斷多種疾病中發揮了核心作用。
所有使用植入材料進行治療的核心都在於,如何讓這些合成材料與人體的細胞和組織實現良性交互。在本項目中,我們將以生物學、醫學、工程學和生物材料為視角來研究可植入材料的相關問題,並探討可用於骨折、心臟疾病等多種疾病治療的生物材料開發最新成果。
在項目結束時,同學們將:

根據導師提供的推薦閱讀材料進行項目預習,具體包含:
① 複習必要的化學及生物學知識;
② 對可以藉助植入物治療的疾病的初步研究,例如:
骨植入物
軟組織植入物(心臟組織、皮膚及眼睛植入物等)
醫療設備植入(起搏器等)
③ 可選:開始研究你想要使用植入物治療或診斷的疾病,並為創建新的醫療植入物制定初步計劃;

Students will receive detailed feedback within one week, including specific advice on how to improve in future projects:
