每日一句英譯英：Survival of the fittest

Survival of the fittest 物競天擇，適者生存

1) 遠離中文理解：

學習英語平均耗費時間精力長達十年以上。因此，為了掌握英語，學習英語有一條「大忌」：遠離中文，儘量不要用中文學習和理解英語。至少在你耗費十年時間學習英語的過程中如此。

不過，只有那些翻譯得非常非常經典的英譯漢範例不在此列。

比如：Survival of the fittest

這句經典英語的經典中文譯文是不能不知道的：物競天擇，適者生存。

實際上survival of the fittest的完整原話應該是Survival of the fittest animals in natural selection(自然淘汰，物競天擇)

除此之外，英譯英學習習慣和學習能力的培養訓練是我們必須堅持的。

換言之，長年英語學習後，見到英語只能「說」中文，不能「說」英語必然是失敗的英語（學習）。

2) Survival of the fittest英譯英訓練：

看到英語Survival of the fittest，我會「轉換」成「其它」英語：

1. Okay.I got you. Survival of the fittest means Only those fittest,those strongest,those best of all animals,or life in the jungle,in the wild(nature)will survive(=meaning) will live on/live longer than others,or will not be killed by others/by nature.

2. Okay.When we say:It's Survival of the fittest,we mean It's Natural selection,that is,everything will be selected naturally.You'll win if you're the best to get along with the environment(環境) around you.

也就是見到英語survival of the fittest，是必須能和另外一句搭配英語natural selection聯繫起來思考思維方式的。而光是一句中文「物競天擇，適者生存」就會把這麼好和重要的英語英譯英訓練「過濾」掉了。
