新冠疫情還在影響著全球大部分地區。中國和非洲都面臨著抗擊疫情、恢復和穩定經濟、保障民生的艱巨任務。
新冠疫情對中非農業合作帶來影響,一些農業合作項目不得不暫緩執行。在此背景下,南京農業大學舉辦「加強新冠疫情下的中非農業合作:機遇與挑戰」雲端論壇,旨在進一步推動我校與非洲夥伴的交流與合作。著名學者及中鐵二十局莫三比克公司代表將出席論壇,與非洲留學生就以下主題展開在線深度交流:

(2)一帶一路聯合實驗室,共建與共享;
(3)中非畜牧業合作:以南農為例;
(4)加強疫情背景下的中非農業合作:機遇與挑戰;

Strengthening China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation against COVID-19: Opportunities and Challenges
The COVID-19 pandemic is a serious global health threat with severe impacts on social, economic, and political aspects. Since February this year, the Chinese people have launched a fierce fight and made enormous sacrifice to bring the situation in China under control. At the moment, we still have to remain mindful of the resurgence risk.
COVID-19 is still affecting most parts of the world. Both China and Africa face the arduous task of controlling the virus while recovering and stabilizing the economy and protecting people's livelihoods.
The pandemic has also impaired the China-Africa agricultural cooperation, with the postponement of some joint agricultural projects. Under this background, Nanjing Agricultural University holds this Webinar on China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation against the COVID-19 with the objective of strengthening exchanges and cooperation with African partners. Well-known professors and the representative from CR20G Mozambique Branch will share their deep insights and new ideas with African students on the following topics:

Prof. LIU Hongwu, founder and director of the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University (IASZNU), is a Distinguished Professor of "Chang Jiang Scholar Program」(appointed by the Ministry of Education of the P.R.C), and a Special Expert of Zhejiang Province (appointed by Zhejiang Provincial Government), who enjoys special allowances of the State Council of the P.R.C.In his early years, Prof. LIU studied in Nigeria, Tanzania and other countries in Africa, and has conducted field investigation in dozens of African countries during the past three decades. He has been dedicated to promoting African Studies from Chinese Perspective and has been an influential scholar in the related fields.In 2007, he established IASZNU, working as the director and the academic leader. Since then, he has not only focused on academic researches, disciplinary construction and talent cultivating of the related fields, but contributed to building bridges for people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between universities, think tanks, media in China and Africa. He is the initiator of China-Africa Think Tanks Forum.Prof. LIU has published more than 20 works and over 100 academic papers, and is the founding editor-in-chief of a series of publications, including African Studies, Report on African Development, and ZNU African Studies Collection. He has been in charge of more than 10 major research projects sponsored by the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C.Bio of Hu Jigao
Hu Jigao, Deputy General Manager of CR20G Mozambique Branch, and Executive Manager of Wanbao China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation Project. Since September 2017, with him at the helm, the rice planting area has increased from 800 ha to 2,500 ha. Meanwhile, the total yield per hectare and sales volume also reached unprecedented heights for two consecutive years.
During the past years, Wanbao has conducted several rice and cash crop cultivating trials with positive results. Achievements have also been made in winemaking, animal husbandry and sericulture.
In November 2018, an agricultural technology training course was held in Mozambique in cooperation with Nanjing Agricultural University, which trained a group of agricultural technicians for the local areas. More than 1,500 local farmers have joined a cooperative for rice growing and now they are technically literate in rice cultivation.
The agricultural technology transfer of the Wanbao Agricultural Project and its contribution to local food security have attracted great attention from both governments of Mozambique and China. High-level leaders of the two countries have visited the project site for many times. Mainstream media both domestic and abroad have reported on the project favorably.
