今天繪本的題目是：「The Weather Vane」
The Weather Vane
風向標
風向標是什麼呢？
Where is it usually found?
It is usually found on the roof.
通常在哪裡可以見到 風向標呢?
在房頂上。
那麼問題來了，
Look at the front cover
Wilma jumped over the weather vane.
我們看下封面，Wilma 從風向標上跳了過去。
Wilma 是怎麼做到的呢？
How did Wilma make it？

Dad went to the building site.
爸爸去了 建築工地。
He took Wilf and Wilma.
他帶上了 Wilf 和 Wilma。
爸爸帶著孩子們參觀工地 building site，
為孩子們講解，Wilf 用相機 camera 認真的記錄著，

他們看到了 起重機/吊車。
A man was in the cab.
Who was he talking to?
起重機裡有個人，他正拿著對講機，
他在和誰通話呢？
Wilma spoke to the man in the cab.
Wilma 與 駕駛室 裡的人說話。

一輛 貨車 來到了建築工地。
It had a weather vane on the back.
後車廂裡有個 風向標。
magic e 的發音規則：
Some words are spelled with short vowel sounds.
Short a: sad, bat, fan
Short e: bed, ten, let
Short i: pin, bib, sit
Short o: box, pot, mom
Short u: tug, but, mud
當兩個輔音字母夾住一個元音字母時（cvc），這個元音通常發短元音（short vowel），也就是【字母發音】。
A silent e at the end of some short vowel words makes the vowel sound long.
Short Vowel add -e --> Long Vowel
(letter sound) (letter name)
bit +e bite
mad +e made
hop +e hope
tub +e tube
pet +e pete
當 magic e 出現後，中間的字母就髮長元音了（long vowel）（cvce），也就是【字母名字】。

"Be careful,"said Dad.
「小心點！」爸爸說。
爸爸臨走前還關照著孩子們。

take a photograph 還可以說：take a picture
「拍張照吧！」 Wilma 說。
She jumped over the weather vane.
她 跳過 風向標。

風向標裝到了屋頂上。
建築進入到收尾工作了。
Wilf took a photograph.
Wilf 又拍了張照。

「看那個風向標。」 Wilf 說。
"We've jumped over it,"said Wilma.
「我們剛才在上面跳呢。」 Wilma 說。
"What a tall story!"said Biff.
tall story 字面解釋是 「高的故事」，
什麼是 「高的故事」 呢？
哈哈，這裡是指 「難以置信的事」 啦。
What a tall story!
「真難以置信（吹牛）！」 Biff 說。

"Be careful,"said Dad.
「小心點！」爸爸說。
"Take a photograph,"said Wilma.
「拍張照片！」 Wilma 說。
She jumped over the weather vane.
她跳過風向標。
The weather vane went on the roof.
風向標裝到了屋頂上。
Wilf took a photograph.
Wilf 拍照。
"See the weather vane,"said Wilf.
「看風向標。」 Wilf 說。
"We've jumped over it,"said Wilma.
「我們剛才在上面跳呢。」 Wilma。
"What a tall story!"said Biff.
「吹牛！」 Biff 說。
But Wilf had a photograph.
但 Wilf 拿出照片。
"See,"he said.
