漢朝是中國歷史上最重要的朝代之一。漢朝統治期間有很多顯著的成就。它最先向其他文化敞開大門，對外貿易興旺。漢朝開拓的絲綢之路通向了中西亞乃至羅馬，各類藝術一派繁榮，湧現了很多文學歷史哲學巨著。公元100年中國第一部字典編撰完成，收入9000個字，提供釋義並列舉不同的寫法。期間科技方面也取得很大進步，發明紙張水中日晷sundials，以及測量地震的儀器。漢朝經歷了四百年，但統治者的腐敗導致了它的滅亡。
解析：中國古代文化是六級考試的熱點話題。之前也考過關於清朝與明朝的話題，因此同學們見到這樣的話題會比較熟悉。
第一句話：「漢朝是中國歷史上最重要的朝代之一。」看到謂語動詞「是」字就可以確定這句話是主系表結構，「...的之一」應該表達為「one of +名詞複數」，這一點在今年的四級考試中也出現了。漢朝我們可以效仿明朝「Ming Dynasty 」寫成「Han Dynasty」,注意字母大寫：The Han dynasty is one of the most important dynasties in Chinese history.
第二句話「漢朝統治期間有很多顯著的成就。」這句話我們可以用「there be」結構來表達「有」；顯著的可以用「remarkable」、「prominent」來表達；在漢朝統治期間可以寫成「during the reign of this dynasty」，因此這句話可以寫成：「There are a lot of remarkable achievements during the reign of this dynasty.」
第三句話「它最先向其他文化敞開大門，對外貿易興旺。」這句話我們可以理解為「他是最先向其他文化敞開大門的國家，並且對外貿易興旺。」因此就改成了一個並列句：It was the first dynasty to open the door to other cultures, and its foreign trade was also thriving.
第四句話「漢朝開拓的絲綢之路通向了中西亞乃至羅馬，各類藝術一派繁榮，湧現了很多文學歷史哲學巨著。」這句話的主句部分是「絲綢之路通向了中西亞乃至羅馬」，「漢朝拓展的」是絲綢之路的定語部分，因為在定語部分出現了「拓展」這個動詞，所以定語部分可以用定語從句來表達:The Silk Road which was explored in Han dynasty reached the West Asia and Rome.後半句我們可以處理成並列句，用and來連接。各類藝術可以表達為「all kinds of arts」,繁榮可以表達為「thrive」, 「湧現」就可以理解為「出現」--emerge 的意思。但是這個句子中已經出現過謂語動詞了，所以emerge 需要用非謂語的結構來表達：and all kinds of art thrived during the Han Dynasty, many great works on literature, history and philosophy emerging in that period.
第五句話「公元100年中國第一部字典編撰完成，收入9000個字，提供釋義並列舉不同的寫法。」主句部分為「公元100年中國第一部字典編撰完成」，可以譯成「The first dictionary in China was compiled in 100 BC」，「，收入9000個字，提供釋義並列舉不同的寫法。」是對字典的進一步解釋，可以用非限定從，也可以用現在分詞做後置定語: 「embodying 9000 words, providing meanings and displaying different ways of characters.」
第六句話「期間科技方面也取得很大進步，發明紙張水中日晷sundials，以及測量地震的儀器。」這句話的主幹部分為「有很大進步。」沒有主語，因此我們可以將技術補充上來當我們句子的主語部分；發明紙張水中日晷以及測量地震的儀器可以另起一句來翻譯，注意句子裡的被動態以及「的」字結構用分詞表達的方式：At the same time, technology made great progress. Paper, sundials in water and instruments used to detect earthquake were invented.
第七句：漢朝經歷了四百年，但統治者的腐敗導致了它的滅亡。
漢朝經歷了四百多年，就是漢朝持續了400年；導致我們可以選用「result in」 「lead to」 「attribute to」等等：The Han Dynasty lasted 400 years. Unfortunately, rulers' corruption resulted in its dying out.
譯文：The Han dynasty is one of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. There are a lot of remarkable achievements during the reign of this dynasty. It was the first dynasty to open the door to other cultures, and its foreign trade was also thriving. The Silk Road which was explored in Han dynasty reached the West Asia and Rome and all kinds of art thrived during the Han Dynasty, many great works on literature, history and philosophy emerging in that period.
