1. Black and white：
to judge everything as either one way or the other, good or bad.
非黑即白的：考慮問題的方式，非黑即白的，絕對化的。
例句：Our boss always thinks that everything is straightforward, but he doesn’t realize that this whole situation is not as black and white as he thinks！
老闆想問題總是太簡單。他根本意識不到情況並非向他想的那樣非黑即白！
2. Put something down in black and white:
to write or have something written down on paper for confirmation or evidence
白紙黑字：在紙上寫下內容，用以確認或證明
例句：I don’t understand why you don’t believe me！ Look, it’s written here in black and white！

3. Black as night:
somewhere very dark, when it is hard to see anything

例句：We had another power cut last night; it was as black as night in our house. We didn’t even have any candles！

4. Black and blue:
used to describe something that is badly bruised
鼻青臉腫：皮膚被打的青一塊紫一塊
例句：John’s face was black and blue after the boxing match.
拳賽過後，約翰臉上青一塊紫一塊。
5. Black eye:
a bruise near one’s eye
烏青的眼眶：(被毆打所致的)烏青的眼眶
例句：Fred came home with a horrible black eye today, but he won’t tell us what happened！
弗雷德青著眼睛回家，卻怎麼也不告訴我們到底發生了什麼！
6. Black out:
this means to, either darkens by putting out or dimming the lights, or to lose consciousness.
熄滅；昏厥：熄滅燈火或暫時失去知覺。
例句：We had a huge black out here last night, the whole town was out of power for about 7 hours！
昨晚我們這兒大斷電，整座小鎮連續七小時漆黑一片。
例句：I don’t know what happened to him, he just blacked out！ Maybe he banged his head.

7. Black as a skillet:
used to describe something that is very dirty, black with dirt
黑如煮鍋：用來描述某物極髒，混著泥土
例句：My hands and clothes were as black as a skillet, and I was only halfway through cleaning your garage！
車庫才打掃一半，我的衣服上、手上就全是泥土了。
8. Black market:
a term used for places where goods are illegally bought and sold for a profit.
黑市交易：非法買賣場所
例句：Jerry used to sell cigarettes from South America on the black market！
