While you』ll get plenty of chances to pogo to your heart’s content at Concrete & Grass, we’re also keen to show music’s more tranquil side.
What better way to spend this year’s mid-autumn holiday than frolicking under the sun, beer in hand, while our musicians take you on a journey that is lulling, hazy and maybe even restorative?

融合瑞典Disco與粵劇元素的獨立流行
Mellow 「Yé-yé」 indie-pop meets Swedish disco via Cantonese opera.
Edine (The Marshmallow Kisses) + Gustaf Murman
基於香港和倫敦，Edine從2001年開始為獨立流行二重奏樂隊The Marshmallow Kisses唱歌，她也曾經以Tramgirl Karaoke Club的名字跟國際上不同音樂家有過不一樣的合作。她跟Lisle Mitnik、Maskopet、Emilio Jose、The Sound of Arrows等音樂家一起發表過單曲。她的音樂融合了法國、瑞典的Disco和粵劇而被人們所喜愛。
今年的音樂節，Edine邀請了Gustaf Murman，和來自瑞典的獨立流行樂隊The Electric Pop Group的吉他手。他們會表演一些流行元素，靈感來源於Edine的音樂之旅。他們將出現在周五的午後和周六整日的柔軟綠地上。

Edine is one half of The Marshmallow Kisses, the Hong Kong duo popular for their soft, wavy, wistful acoustic songs. She’s also played twee sunshine pop as 『Tramgirl Karaoke Club』, and released singles with Lisle Mitnik (AKA Fireflies), Maskopet, Emilio Jose, and The Sound of Arrows.
For Concrete & Grass, Edine will be joined by Gustaf Murman, a Swedish guitarist from that classic Scandinavian school of whisper-folk. Think Kings of Convenience meets Cantopop.

你在混凝草音樂節的綠色大草地上閉著眼睛躺著，一手夾著古巴雪茄，一手拿著杯白俄羅斯雞尾酒，任由周末午後的陽光灑滿你的全身，這是多麼美妙的一個時刻。在這個時候，你需要聽44的音樂。
44的音樂充滿了舒適的氛圍，緩慢的節拍，以及爵士化的樂器，不斷挑逗誘惑著你，讓你跟著點頭的時候，思維也天馬行空一般地馳騁。
44來自廈門，成員們在中國南方的Hip Hop場景裡都有過出色的表現，阿龍和DFU都曾是廣州Hip Hop團隊精氣神的成員，在來自廈門本地的Roy加入之後，他們經常會一起展開長達幾個小時的即興演奏，風格獨樹一幟。隨著阿龍移居香港之後，44以完整陣容演出的機會也越來越少，此次在周五下午的無解空間舞臺上，他們會少見地以全員完整的陣容進行演出！

Close your eyes and imagine you are comfortably reclined on our green, green grass, a corpulent Cuban cigar smoldering between your fingers on one hand, White Russian chilling in the other, as the tranquility of a warm and sunny summer Sunday washes over you. It's the kind of day where everything is just right with the world.
The soundtrack to it all would have to be 44.
Their smooth, down tempo beats and chilled, jazzy instrumentation impossibly flirt between serene and stimulating, simultaneously simmering you down and winding you up. Expect a sea of heads bobbing in unison, thoughts and cares adrift.
Hailing from Xiamen, the trio have a colourful history in the South Chinese hip-hop scene. Members Along and DFU were both part of famed Guangzhou hip-hop collective Chee Productions. Local boy Roy has come in to help uncover new ground during their hours-long improvised jam sessions. Following Along's decision to move to Hong Kong, opportunities to perform have been sparse.
Their Concrete & Grass debut is going to bring the group back together.

關於Lo-fi傳奇樂隊Pavement的那些事兒，三天三夜都聊不完。靈魂主唱Stephen Malkmus總以漫不經心的慵懶唱腔和歪斜殘破的吉他聲響，彈唱出Slacker之王的浪漫風採。1999年Pavement樂隊的解散令Stephen Malkmus在創作上邁入了更自由與個人的新階段，他召集那些日子裡相伴同行的伴奏樂團The Jicks，再加上前Sleater-Kinney的鼓手Janet Weiss的入列，一支新的組合Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks從此誕生。

As frontman of Pavement, Stephen Malkmus was a 90s indie-rock god. He pretty much invented the style now known as 『slacker rock』, with his curious yet endearing charm-offensive style. There’s this great moment on 『Slow Century』, the DVD retrospective of Pavement’s career, where someone tells Malkmus: "Some say you're going to save rock and roll."
Stephen shrugs. "Yeah, sure, we'll do it."
That’s the order of the day here: Wry tunes, sharp wit, elastic guitar lines. Consistently brilliant, relentlessly eclectic, frequently funny pop. Always chill, and offhandedly clever.

The Jicks are Joanna Bolme, Mike Clark and Jake Morris. With seven albums and 16 years of touring under their belt, they』ve been around longer than Pavement now.
From 2011’s Minor Traffic to 2014’s Wig Out at Jagbags, they’re immediately listenable and instantly comfortable. The best of Pavement, with sharper focus. More slanting and enchanting. Clever wordplay very much intact.
Malkmus: 「To me, rock lyrics are projection, a revenge fantasy, a fantastical pose, an imagined victory … For me, it’s what can I get over on the world, and sometimes it’s just joking around. Humor is important, really important. It’s the only inroad to the mainstream that someone like me could make.」
That inroad has been long made, but here’s a new one for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks: their first-ever gig in China.

來自英國約克郡的民謠唱作人Benjamin Francis Leftwich五年之後終攜新作回歸。新專輯《After the Rain》於2016年8月19日通過手握Wolf Alice和The 1975的廠牌Dirty Hit發行。目前官方已公布的新歌《Tilikum》創作於其父在2013年因癌症去世之後。「這件事情讓我崩潰了好久，但是把想說的話寫成歌幫助我重新振作了起來。」
Benjamin Francis Leftwich深受Nick Drake和Elliott Smith的民謠之聲影響，首張專輯《Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm》在2011年一經推出，立即受到廣泛關注，全球銷量10萬張，Spotify播放量超過15億。其中兩首歌曲《Atlas Hands》和《Box Of Stones》更是獲得當紅美劇《實習醫生格蕾》採用為配樂。
然而，當時正處於事業巔峰時期的Benjamin Francis Leftwich卻也正在經歷人生最艱難的喪父之痛 「我知道我需要停止工作一段時間，對我來說，我只是需要離開音樂生活。」

Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s life was thrown into an unexpected path after his huge 2011 debut album, Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm (100,000 copies worldwide;150 million Spotify plays and counting).
The loss of a parent is one of the hardest things in life, and for Leftwich his father was also his number one source of inspiration. But put a mind and voice like his through tragedy and hardship, and out it comes: heartbreaking, melancholy, shatteringly beautiful music.
This is his new single. His first song in nearly five years.
Written in the living room opposite his father’s old house,』Tilikum』 was a spark for a new collection of songs, After the Rain which will be released this August 19th. 「Leftwich sings, and the hurt in his voice accumulates with each word, making it easy to envision him as the outcasted lover his lyric paints: guitar-in-hand, shivering, waiting out in the dark for someone to take him by the lips and lead him inside.」 (Pop Matters). It’s both effortlessly beautiful and hauntingly honest.
This kid will go places. Expect elegant acoustic beauty backed up by his painfully fragile voice. Pay attention to his words: they’re filled with quizzical melancholy and sensitive introspection.
