Golden Week
The Golden Week is the name given to a semi-annual 7-day or 8-day national holiday, implemented in 2000.
黃金周是指每半年左右一個7或8天的國定假日，2000年左右開始興起的說法。
●Chunyun, the Golden Week around the Chinese New Year, begins in January or February.
春運是中國春節前後的黃金周，從1月或2月開始。
●The "National Day Golden Week" begins around 1 October. If Mid-Autumn Festival is near National Day, the Golden Week may be 8 days long.

為什麼會叫「黃金」周呢?
Falling in autumn season with clear weather and comfortable temperatures, Chinese National Day holiday is a golden time for travel. It is the longest public holiday in China besides the Chinese New Year. The weeklong holiday enables both short-distance and long-distance trips, resulting in a boom of tourist revenue, as well as an overwhelming tourist crowd. This period is called golden week because of the biggest week for tourism in China when people have a week off to reunite with families and take trips.
