洗衣服
說到「洗衣服」的英語，很多人的第一反應都是「wash clothes」，但「wash clothes」其實是一句十足的中式英語。
因為我們深受中文習慣影響，說到「洗」就會想到「wash」。雖然老外可能也猜得到你想說什麼，但「洗衣服」更為地道的英語表達是「do the laundry」.
「laundry」是不可數詞，指「洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物」，一般指乾洗店。
外國人經常帶著大量的衣物到洗衣店或者公共洗衣房裡清洗，他們覺得機器能做的事情儘量交給機器做。所以「do the laundry」 表達「洗衣服」是最地道的。
Today is a good day to do the laundry.
今天是洗衣服的好天氣.
Well, I to remind you, but to do the laundry.
是啊, 我不願提醒你, 但是輪到你洗衣了.
有時在英式英語中，也用「do the washing」表達「洗衣服」：

買菜；買食品雜貨
這邊的 「菜」我們可以用 grocery 這個詞：
Grocery /ˈɡroʊsəri/ n. 食品雜貨店；食品雜貨所以Grocery store 就是 「超市、日用品商店」的意思，從 grocery store 買回的東西，都叫做 groceries.在美國是很少有 「菜場」的，所以一般的蔬菜和水果肉類，都在超市或者零售店購買。美國還有一類商店叫做便利店 convenient store， 這類商店主要出售一些生活必需品 necessaries .I wrote down a note as a reminder to get groceries after work.
