英語中，有一些句子，看似簡單，但卻包含了很多習慣用法或者重要的知識點。如果完全按照字面意思來理解的，就會犯很大的錯誤哦。下面列舉5個常理解錯的句子，看看你錯多少個。
1.He was only too pleased to let them go.
× 他太高興了，不願讓他們走。
√ 他很樂意讓他們走。
大家熟知的是：too...to...表示「太.而不能.」
但是你可能不知道：only too表示「很，非常；太」，相當於「very」。
2.It can't be less interesting.
× 它不可能沒有趣。
√ 它無聊極了。
在英語中，not,never之類的否定詞與形容詞或副詞的比較級連用，表示最高級含義。意為：再沒有比.更.的了。
比如，我們常見的一個表達：I can't agree with you more.我太贊同你啦！
3.All his friends did not turn up.
× 他的朋友全沒到。
√ 他的朋友沒全到。
all...not...表不完全否定。
有一個非常有名的句子：All that glitters is not gold.（會發光的不一定是金子）。
如果想說完全否定的話可以用：None of his friends turned up.
4.You can't be too careful in your work.
× 你工作不能太仔細。
√ 你工作越仔細越好。
cannot...too是個固定結構,其義為"無論如何...也不過分"。
上句相當於: You should be as careful as possible.

You don't say是常用的口語句子。它有兩個用法：
1) 用來表示驚訝，比如說你的朋友告訴了一件讓你感覺到驚訝的事，你就可以說You don't say！
——I won the lottery! 我中彩票了！
——You don't say！真的嗎？
2）也可以用來諷刺別人，表面上的意思是"真的嗎"或者"是嗎"， 但是卻有"呵呵，我早就知道..."的意思。
——Ryan and I broke up again. 我和Ryan又分手了。
