1 SCOPE
This Standard specifies standard voltage values which are intended to serve
as preferred values for the nominal voltage of power supply systems;
as reference values for equipment and system design.
This Standard applies to
AC transmission, distribution and utilization systems and equipment for use in such systems with a standard frequency of 50 Hz having a nominal voltage above 220 V;
AC and DC traction systems;
Equipment having a rated voltage below 120V and a standard frequency of 50Hz (but not exclusively), and equipment having a DC voltage below 1,500V; such equipment covers batteries (from primary or secondary cells), other power supply devices (AC or DC), electrical equipment (including industrial and communication), and appliances;
High voltage DC transmission system.
This Standard does not apply to voltages representing or transmitting signals or measured values.
This Standard does not apply to voltages of elements, components or parts used within electrical equipment.
Note 1: In this standard, AC voltage means the root mean square value (r.m.s.), while DC voltage is non-ripple direct voltage value.
Note 2: Test voltages, test conditions and acceptance criteria are required to be defined in the system and product standards.
2 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
系統標稱電壓nominal system voltage
用以標誌或識別系統電壓的給定值。
註： 改寫GB/T 2900.50-2008，定義601-01-21。
2.2
系統最高電壓highest voltage of a system
系統正常運行的任何時間，系統中任何一點上所出現的最高運行電壓值。
註： 瞬態過電壓（例如由開關操作引起的）及不正常的暫態電壓變化均不包括在內。

2.3
系統最低電壓lowest voltage of a system
系統正常運行的任何時間，系統中任何一點上所出現的最低運行電壓值。
註： 瞬態過電壓（例如由開關操作引起的）及不正常的暫態電壓變化均不包括在內。

2.4
設備額定電壓rated voltage( for equipment)
由製造商對一電氣設備在規定的工作條件下所規定的電壓。
註： 改寫GB/T 2900.1- 2008，定義3.5.86 。
2.5
設備最高電壓highest voltage for equipment
規定設備的最高電壓是用以表示：
a) 絕緣；
b) 與設備最高電壓相關聯的其他性能。
註： 設備只能用於系統最高電壓不高於其設備最高電壓的系統中。
