Abstract: ISPlasma/IC-PLANTS is a specialized international symposium that brings together about 500 world-leading scientists and engineers in Nagoya, Japan to discuss the latest researches in the fields of advanced plasma science, its applications for the processing and manufacturing of nitride semiconductors and nanomaterials, as well as new ecosystems for technology transfers. This symposium will address issues such as global warming, resources and energy problems to which advanced plasma science and its application technologies can greatly contribute. In this symposium, biosensing technologies will be also highlighted, because of their increasing importance in healthcare, agri-food and environmental areas. We hope that this symposium will provide an ideal opportunity for the exchange of new ideas and information, and also support the initiation or further development of international collaborations among those who work in these multidisciplinary fields.

(2)ICDDPS-3 — 3rd International Conference on Data-Driven Plasma Science

Abstract: The goal of the conference is for the participants to gain information on and to discuss the latest research activities in data-driven science (such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing, data mining, and big data) applied to plasma science and technologies, including, but not limited to, plasma processing and nuclear fusion. Thanks to the recent advancement of sophisticated diagnostics techniques and first-principle computer simulations, the amount of data that one can accumulate in typical research is increasing exponentially. Plasma scientists should also be able to take full advantage of, or even contribute to, the latest development of data-driven science and devise a way to extract essential information efficiently from such data. The extracted information then may be used for more efficient plasmas control and/or offer good insight into physical mechanisms of the phenomena that they study.

This decision reflects concerns and uncertainties arising from the present public health situation, which will inevitably affect all aspects of conference organization and travel on the relevant timescale. The conference together with its satellite meeting will take place online. The dates of the conference remain unchanged.
