吟著「相逢橋上無非客，行盡江南都是詩」（薩都剌《重過九華山》）。與梨園弟子擦肩，正欲細細打量，卻被其手中花燈奪去心神。氤氳在甜潤的空氣裡，澄江如練的水面在這裡靜養，巍峨高聳的山峰在這裡休憩，鬱鬱蔥蔥的灌木在這裡吮吸，這裡，是池州。

While Chanting "There are all visitors encountered on the bridge,and poems all the way in southern Anhui" (Passing through Mt.Jiuhua Again by Sa Doula). While passing by an opera performer, I was to take a close look, but the colorful lantern in her hand took away my mind. The sweetness is enshrouded in the air, the flowing Yangtze relaxes and the towering peaks stand silently here, and lush shrubs breathe greedily... Here is Chizhou.

池州歷史悠久，文化底蘊深厚，是一座文化名城。早在石器時代就有先民在這方熱土上繁衍生息，自唐武德四年設州置府，迄今已有近1400年歷史。吳儂軟語、三楚情思、中原雄風在這融匯流轉，儒家文化、道家文化薈萃交融於此。

吟詩，池州素有「千載詩人地」的美譽。詩仙李白三上九華、五遊秋浦，留下《秋浦歌十七首》等著名詩篇；晚唐杜牧曾任池州刺史，所作的《清明》，讓杏花村飲譽天下；陶淵明、白居易、蘇軾、李清照、陸遊……皆為池州揮筆潑墨。中國現存最早的一部文學總集《文選》，就是梁昭明太子蕭統召集翰林學士，在池州編輯並刻版印刷的。

聽曲，池州是中國儺戲之鄉，被譽為「戲曲活化石」的池州儺戲、「徽池雅調」青陽腔名列國家級非物質文化遺產。石臺目連戲和黃梅戲姐妹腔的文南詞名列省級文化遺產。

Chizhou is a city known for its long history and profound cultural deposits. As early as in the anthropolithic age, this place was inhabited by human beings. Since it was chartered a prefecture seat in the fourth year of the Wude Period in the Tang Dynasty, the city has existed for 1,400 years, in which the Suzhou soft dialect, the Sanchu's sentiments, and the Central Plains' heroic spirit have merged and popularized, and Confucian culture, Taoist culture have converged and blended.

When it comes to poetry, Chizhou is known as a place of poets over one thousand years. Li Bai, a poetic genius, visited Mt. Jiuhua three times and the Qiupu River five times, leaving 17 famous poems including the Song to Qiupu. Du Mu, a Chizhou magistrate in the late Tang Dynasty left a poem called Qingming that has made the Village of Apricot Flowers famous all over China. Tao Yuanming, Bai Juyi, Su Shi, Lu You, Li Qingzhao, and many other well-known poets all made poems dedicated to the city. Zhao Ming Selected Works, the earliest collection of poems and essays in China still existing now was compiled and printed in Chizhou by Prince Xiao Tong titled Zhao Ming and other scholars he summoned under the instruction of the emperor of the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties.

In terms of opera arias, Chizhou is the home of Chinese Nuo Opera. This opera, known as a "living fossil of the ancient operas", and Qingyangqiang, acclaimed as "Huichi elegant tunes", rank in the list of national intangible cultural heritage items. Mulian Drama popular in mountainous Shitai County and Wennanci, a sister opera of Huangmei Opera, are in the list of Anhui provincial cultural heritage items.

There are also a great many folk customs and local art forms awaiting you to explore. Dongzhi festival lantern show and Mt. Jiuhua temple fair have been included in the national intangible cultural heritage, Guichi Luocheng folk song, Shitai aria singing, Ping'an straw dragon lantern dance, Jigong tune, Fuzhu temple fair, and Youhua singing to the accompaniment of gong-drum percussion music have been included in the provincial cultural heritage.

抬頭奇峰遮天，腳下流水潺潺。九華山巍峨挺立，秋浦河澄碧常秋，蓬萊洞瑰麗奇絕……池州境內山河洞湖齊全，市域內森林覆蓋率近60%，溼地面積佔國土面積20%以上，大氣環境質量穩居全省前列，有「天然大氧吧」之稱。

池州主要河流水質均在優、良以上，空氣中的負氧離子含量是國家標準的35倍，主城區建成區綠化覆蓋率達43.4%、綠地率38.4%、人均公園綠地13.1平方米。

這裡有國家動植物自然保護區、「華東動植物基因庫」牯牛降，國家珍稀水禽自然保護區、國際重要溼地升金湖。

全市各類景區景點300多個，國家A級以上景區達40家，是皖南國際文化旅遊示範區核心區，國家首批全域旅遊示範區創建城市。池州還是長三角城市群重要成員，長江黃金水道流經全境162公裡，池州旅遊碼頭接待的國內遊輪最高達180個航次，九華山機場已開通7條航線通達京滬廣深等10多個城市，銅九鐵路、4條高速、6條國道和寧安高鐵貫通全境，立體交通網絡已經形成。

近年來，池州成功創建全省首家國家森林城市、中國優秀旅遊城市、中國首批低碳試點城市、醫養結合試點城市等。

三縣全部通過國家生態縣驗收，2013年榮獲「中國人居環境獎」。

In the view are odd-shaped peaks, and by your feet are gurgling brooks. Mt. Jiuhua stands majestically, the Qiupu River offers limpid and green water in the autumn and Penglai Cave is mysteriously amazing... Chizhou commands a complete range of mountains, rivers, caves, and lakes. The forest coverage rate in the city is nearly 60%, the wetland area accounts for more than 20% of the land area, and the air quality ranks steady at the forefront of the province. Therefore, the city is dubbed a "natural oxygen bar".

The water quality of the major rivers in Chizhou is rated excellent or fair plus. The content of negative oxygen ions in the air here is 35 times that of the national standard. In the built-up area of the main urban areas, the green coverage rate is 43.4%, the green land rate is 38.4%, and the per capita park green space is 13.1 square meters.

Here are Guniujiang, a national nature flora and fauna reserve known as the "East China Animal and Plant Gene Bank", Shengjin Lake, which is a national rare waterfowl nature reserve and an important wetland in the world in addition to the 300-odd tourist attractions and scenic spots, among which 36 are rated as national A and above. Chizhou is the core area of the Southern Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Region, and one of the first national whole-area tourism development demonstration areas to be built. Moreover, it is also an important member city of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. Now, a comprehensive transportation system involving aviation, waterway and land transport has been formed: the golden waterway of the Yangtze River flows 162 kilometers by the whole land of the city; the tourist harbor of Chizhou receives many domestic cruise ships, 180 in a year at most in record; Chizhou Jiuhuashan Airport has opened seven routes to more than 10 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen; and the Tongling-Jiujiang Railway, Nanjing-Anqing High-speed Railway, four expressways, and six national highways run through the city.

In recent years, Chizhou has succeeded in building itself into a national forest city, the first one in Anhui, a China's excellent tourism city, one of China's low-carbon pilot cities in the first batch, and a pilot city in combined medical and elderly care service. All the three counties under the city have passed the national ecological county acceptance assessment, and the city was honored a national model for human settlement improvement in 2013.

池州在全省率先編制實施全域旅遊，並貫徹「文化是旅遊的靈魂，旅遊是文化的載體」的理念。打造了國家級4A景區九華山大願文化園；以傳統民俗文化為主體的國家4A景區秀山門博物館；以杏花村為文化主體的國家級3A景區、省研學旅行基地杏花村文化旅遊區；以池州儺為文化主體的青山廟池州儺展示……在取得融合發展的同時，更創新優化了文化旅遊資源。

為了踐行綠水青山和金山銀山的發展思路，池州將大健康產業作為新的支柱產業重點培育。截至2018年7月31日，大健康重點項目入庫201個，總投資1132.41億元，其中，億元以上續建項目30個，億元以上開工項目29個，10億元以上儲備項目21個，已經在生態養生中心、禪修養生中心、戶外運動中心、健康食品中心等方面有所建樹，並且，未來池州將在大健康產業發展統計監測、醫養結合機構服務規範等方面先行先試。

Chizhou took the lead in compiling its whole-area tourism development planning in Anhui and implemented the concept of "culture is the soul of tourism and tourism is the carrier of culture". It has built a national 4A-rated tourist attraction named Mt. Jiuhua Dayuan (Grand Wish) Cultural Park, a national 4A-rated tourist attraction centering Xiushanmen Museum featuring traditional folk culture, and a national 3A-rated tourist attraction called Xinghua Village(Village of Apricot Flowers) that features ancient and poetic culture. Other attractions include Xinghua Cultural Tourism Zone which is also a provincial travelogue research base and the Qingshan Temple where Chizhou Nuo Opera is showcased as the major local culture. While achieving an integrated development of various industrial sectors, Chizhou makes innovative and optimized use of its tourism resources.

In order to carry out the development ideas of the "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", Chizhou is committed to cultivating the health industry as a new pillar industry. As of July 31, 2008, 201 healthcare-related projects have been registered with a total investment of 113,241 million yuan. Among the projects, 30 are continuations of the existing projects, each having an extra investment of 100 million yuan, 29 new projects, each also having an investment of 100 million yuan, and 21 reserved projects for later development, each with an investment of one billion yuan. Progress has been made in the construction of the ecological health center, outdoor sports facility of the Buddhist meditation and regimen center, and the health food center. In the future, Chizhou will play a leading and exploratory role in supervising statistically the health industry development and standardizing the operation of institutions providing combined medical and elderly care service.
