進修於俄羅斯莫斯科國立蘇裡科夫美術學院。渤海大學研究員，高級經濟師職稱。
Studied in the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow, he is the researcher of Bohai University and a senior economist.
現為《寫生中》中國油畫寫生俱樂部常務副主席、聯合媒體總編，紐約《世界藝術研究院-現代油畫院》院士、研究員。
Wang is currently the Executive Vice-Chairman of "Sketching" China Oil Painting Sketch Club, the chief editor of United Media, a researcher and an academician of New York "World Research Institute of Art-Modern Oil Painting College."
油畫作品被世界各地多家美術館及收藏家收藏。1992—2018年，裝飾藝術作品在美國、歐洲等20多個國家博覽會參展，100多件藝術作品刊登在法國《ART&Decoration》、德國《stil&markt》等歐洲藝術類雜誌，並多次作為歐洲最大的德國法蘭克福春季、秋季博覽會會刊登封面發行。
The oil paintings were collected by art galleries and collectors worldwide. From 1992 to 2018, the decoration artworks were exhibited in the national museum shows of the United States, Europe, and over 20 more areas. More than 100 works were published on ART&Decoration of France, stil&markt of Germany, and other European art magazines. Additionally, they have been published as the cover of the largest spring and autumn fairs in Frankfurt, Germany for many times.

Wang Gen's works have a wide composition as if he is shooting views with a wide-angle lens. He uses keen brushwork to depict the objects he sees, from near to far, across nature, and have clear layers. From his landscape paintings, the most appreciating parts are the branches and leaves and the mountains and stones that were shown along with the internal movement of the painter's heart. It clearly indicates his "pure and indifferent, quiet and far-reaching" attitude to the world, it is also a beautiful presentation of his beloved things from the heart.
