「雖然名詞以「er」結尾有不少表示「人」的，比如：teacher（老師）、foreigner（外國人）、stranger（陌生人），但是也有很多不表示「人」的，比如「bestseller」是指「暢銷書、暢銷商品」，而這裡的「no-brainer」則表示「無需用腦的簡單的事情」，今天就來學學這個表達！
小編這周突然想起來，艾思格的一位外教老師之前說他想回趟美國。於是就和艾思格的學員-小艾同學就給他打視頻電話詢問情況：
Hi, Jack! Are you going back to America? （嗨，Jack！你是打算回美國嗎？）
I've canceled my flight actually. The coronavirus is getting worse and worse in America. I'd better stay in China at the moment. That's a no-brainer.（實際上，我已經取消了預定的機票。新冠病毒在美國傳播得越來越嚴重了，我現在最好還是待在中國。That's a no-brainer.）
You did the right thing.（沒錯，取消機票是對的。）
And who is a no-brainer? He has no brain?（誰是「a no-brainer?」 你是說這個人沒腦子？）
No, no, no. 「A no-brainer」 means a decision super easy to make. You don't even need your brain to think. No doubt it's much safer here, so I made the decision very easily.（不不不，「a no-brainer」的意思是「一個超級容易做出的決定」。你甚至不需要費腦子思考。對於我來說，想都不用想當然是留下來更安全，所以我非常容易就做好了決定，留在北京。）
Oh, I see! So if my dad asks me 「Do you want to do your homework or play with Switch?」 I would say 「Play with Switch！That's a no-brainer.」 Right?（哦，我明白了！所以如果我爸問我「做作業還是玩任天堂？」我會說「玩任天堂，這還用想。」是這樣嗎?）
Ha ha, you're really a brain!（哈哈哈，你真是個機靈鬼！）
所以，今天我們要學習的是brain的另外一個用法：「a no-brainer」。
從小艾同學與外教的對話中我們知道，a no-brainer並不是「沒腦子的人」，而是「不需要費腦子就能做出的決定」。
上周（3月19日）美國紐約市長白思豪（Billnde Blasio）在向公眾通報紐約市新冠病毒疫情蔓延情況時，要求總統川普派出軍隊幫助控制疫情：
他說：「At this point, there's never been a greater no-brainer in the history of the Republic.」（共和國歷史上沒有比這件事更「不需要動腦子就能決定的事了」。）在這個語境裡，派軍隊來支援物資的運送就是一個no-brainer.
除了上面的例子，no-brainer還可以用在下面的這些場景中：
Take it easy.The final exam will be a no-brainer.
別緊張，期末考試會很容易的。
Don't worry, I'll eat my hat if I can't pass it. It's just a no-brainer.
沒什麼好緊張的，我打賭我一定能過。小菜一碟而已。
It's a no-brainer that I'll get that dress.
毫無疑問，我要買到那條裙子。
我們再看幾個和這個表達相關的例句：
It's an easy answer... and no-brainer.
這個是個簡單的答案，根本不用想。
Looks can be deceiving. This thing is actually a no-brainer. Let me show you.
外表有時會騙人的。這個東西其實很容易，我來演示給你看。
Learning English can be a no-brainer if you know the right method.
如果方法得當，學英語不過是小菜一碟。
除此之外，我們來拓展學習一下關於「有腦子、沒腦子、死腦筋」
可以這樣表達：
有腦子：have brains，也就是說這個人有想法。沒腦子：haven't got a brain in one's head，那就是說這個人想法太簡單、太單純。死腦筋：ROM brain，這類人思想不靈活，不肯接受新事物。
英文中對於ROM brain，是這麼解釋的：
ROM brain refers to a person who refuses to accept input and ideas from other people. It may also be someone who spews ideas and opinions but can't seem to accept input from the outside world.
只讀型大腦」指那些拒絕接受別人勸告或想法的人，也可以指四處發表見解卻不肯接受外界信息的人。
Tom is not willing to take in any new ideas. A ROM brain indeed.湯姆不願意接受任何新思想，是個地道的「死腦筋」。
英語的重要性，當然是毋庸置疑的。下次我們就可以說That’s a no-brainer.是不是瞬間覺著英語提升了一個Level？
