而要譯為「比方說」，在口語中經常在人想舉例子時候會說這樣的話，類似「就說……吧」。這個表達也可以直接簡寫為 say。

例:
I'd advise you to take an useful elective course, let us say, swimming.

Try and finish the work by, let's say, Friday.

Say/Let's say (= if we accept) (that) the journey takes three hours, then you'd be there by two o'clock.

Say是let's say的簡短模式，這兩個說法都很隨意。For example和let's say相比更標準更正式。
Say you were taller.
假如你長得更高些。
Let's say you had a new car.
假設你有一輛新車。
For example, if you had a new car.
例如，如果你有一輛新車。
Say是let's say的簡短版，這兩個詞都用不到if在它後面的句子。For example會，大概率也會用到逗號在它後面，為了表示有一個短暫的停頓，而另外那兩個表達不需要。
