在昨天罐頭菌鴿了一天之後，今天罐頭菌又如約而至。
storm in a teacup，假如在百度裡面搜索這個詞組，可能搜出來的詞組意思會表示「茶杯風暴」「茶杯風波」等奇怪的中文意思，相信沒有人可以理解這個詞組究竟是什麼意思。今天，罐頭菌照常給大家科普一些常用又常見的英語詞組。
1.Storm in a teacup 小題大做
在字面裡面的意思來看，就是「茶杯裡面的風暴」，然而不管再怎麼掛風暴，茶杯的大小都不能有什麼大影響，因此一般用於表示把小事情特意誇大的情況，中文的「小題大作」。
Their arguments were like a storm in a teacup.
他們的爭論是小題大做。
2.Keep a low profile 保持低調
Profile大家都認識它「側臉」的意思，其實它還有一個「形象，印象」的意思，而low profile，則是我們平時中文常說的「低調」，
He's been in a little trouble recently so he's trying to keep a low profile.
他最近有點麻煩，所以儘量保持低調。
3.Clothes make the man 人靠衣裝
我們常說「人靠衣裝，佛靠金裝」，意思就是說，穿著得體的人在社會上面能更容易立足。這句話翻譯過來我們可以說：Clothes make the man.（衣服成就人）
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
人靠衣裝。赤裸的人在社會上沒有或者很小影響力。
4.Blow hot and cold 反覆無常，舉棋不定
hot and cold大家都知道，就是好「熱和冷」，blow hot and cold其實很容易理解，時不時吹熱風，時不時吹冷風，讓人感覺「反覆無常」。
He's been blowing hot and cold about the trip to Brazil.
他對去巴西這事一直反覆無常。
5.Weather the storm 度過困難
Weather除了表示天氣的意思之外，還有動詞「度過，平安經受」的意思，因此weather the storm就隱喻「平安度過困難」的意思。
He insists he will not resign and will weather the storm.
他堅稱自己不會辭職，一定渡過難關。
