bark up the wrong tree

「喊錯了樹？」 這個短語可不是這個意思哦！英語中常用「Someone is barking up the wrong tree」, 指的是某人找錯了目標、對象。

這個表達來源於19世紀獵人們獵捕浣熊時，通常需要依靠獵狗把浣熊驅趕到樹上，獵狗待在樹根處狂吠不止，直到獵人趕來。顯然，如果浣熊不在那棵樹上，那麼獵狗就找錯了對象，白費了功夫。

從此「bark up the wrong tree」這個短語便被人們沿用下來，以表示「找錯了目標」此類的大烏龍事件。
