第一步：調整結構。
抓住中文句子的主幹部分（一般為主謂賓成分 注:主系表也包括在內），分析修飾成分（一般為定狀補）。
舉例：剪紙（是）【中國最為流行的傳統民間】藝術形式之一。
主幹：剪紙是藝術形式之一；
修飾成分：中國最為流行的傳統民間。
第二步：對應翻譯。
比如，前句主幹：Papercutting is one of the art forms/arts
加上修飾成分：Papercutting is one of the most popular traditional folk arts in China.
或者：Papercutting is one of the China’s most popular traditional folk arts in China.
註：翻譯非常靈活，對於一個句子有很多種解讀方法，但是都是合理的答案。
技巧篇
1. 把中文調整成英文的結構，抓住主幹，理清枝葉。
比如：反應在藝術和文學中的鄉村生活理想是中國文明的重要特徵（2014年6月四級題目）。
對於這句話的翻譯首先應該抓住主幹。
（反應在藝術和文學中的）鄉村生活理想是中國文明的重要特徵。
那麼：The ideal rural lifestyle (reflected in the art and literature) is a great characteristic in Chinese civilization.
2. 翻譯不一定要苛求字詞，需要先把整個句子的結構搭好，至少讓人覺得你譯文可以基本表達原文的內容。
比如：為了促進教育公平，中國已經投入360億元，用於改善農村地區教育設施和加強中西部地區農村義務教育。
該句子先學會搭結構：
In order to ______, China has invested 36 billion yuan to _______ and_______ .
如果你不會寫義務教育，甚至教育設施也不了解，但是至少你的結構搭出來了，那你就勉為其難地瞎編或者不寫你並不會的部分。
參考譯文：
In order to promote the equality in education, China has invested 36 billion yuan to improve the education facilities in rural areas and enhance the rural compulsory education in the central and western regions.
3. 學會變通翻譯。
儘管我們不主張把指南針翻譯成GPS或者a machine always pointing to the south，但是大家還是要學會變通。
比如：它既包括為皇室成員享樂而建造的大型花園，也包括學者、商人和卸任的政府官員為擺脫嘈雜的外部世界而建造的私家花園。
首先參考前兩部，打好結構，抓住主幹：
中文可以分解成：它既包括（為皇室成員享樂而建造的）大型花園，也包括（學者、商人和卸任的政府官員為擺脫嘈雜的外部世界而建造的）私家花園。
英文的結構搭成：It includes not only the large gardens _________ but also the private gardens.
第一個空格翻譯：為皇室成員享樂而建造的
「享樂」很多同學一下子想不出翻譯方法，其實享樂大不了就用have fun。
於是：the large gardens which are built for royal family to have fun
第二個空格翻譯：學者、商人和卸任的政府官員為擺脫嘈雜的外部世界而建造的
「擺脫嘈雜的外部世界」也使得很多同學為難，其實大不了就用get rid of the noise from the outside world。
the private gardens which are built for scholars, merchants and retired government workers to get rid of the noise from the outside world.
完整版本：
It includes not only the large gardens which are built for royal family to have fun, but also the private gardens which are built for scholars, merchants and retired government workers to get rid of the noise from the outside world.
