最近B站一支視頻大火，連人民日報都轉發！沒錯，就是《後浪》！不知道這個假期，你被它刷屏了嗎？
《後浪》是國家一級演員何冰以老一輩的口吻向中國的年輕人們表達羨慕、認可、鼓勵等多種情緒，引發了全網強烈的共鳴，也帶來了巨大的爭議。

不過，有很多網友發現，轉發居多的竟然是80後，而不是B站的主力畫像人群95後和00後。80後們的表態百感交集，慨嘆著青春的易逝；而剛剛步入社會的95後們的反應，似乎略顯平淡。
很多年輕人看完這段視頻，認為五四青年該有的精神內核沒有在當中得到體現，並表示：這碗雞湯，我們不幹！
無論是褒是貶，這則視頻都刷爆了各大平臺，吸引了不同人群的注意。b站也又一次成功破圈，把「後浪」這個叫法帶火了。
那麼，「後浪」用英語怎麼說呢？
我們知道，「後浪」來源於一句古詩：長江後浪推前浪。這裡，「後浪」比喻年輕一代。
所以如果沒有前後語境（解釋），直接把「」翻譯成「the waves behind」或者「the rear waves」，由於缺乏文化背景，老外是無法理解的。
一般而言，可以把「後浪」的本體直接翻譯出來，也就是「年輕人」、「新世代」、「年輕一輩」。這麼一想，其實「後浪」的英語就非常簡單，可以翻譯為young people; youngsters; new generation; younger generation。
還有一個比較有意思的翻譯：「rising waves」. Rising一詞則強調浪花（年輕一代）湧起的動作過程——他們時刻準備著洶湧，準備rising奮起拼搏，而不甘心於沉淪。
值得注意的是，美國人還有一個習慣，就是會把70後說成generation X；80後說成generation Y；90後說成generation Z。
另外，順便記一個詞：Millennials（千禧一代），指1981-1996之間出生的那一代人，一個詞涵蓋了80、90後兩代人。
我們再順便學習一下，新手、老手怎麼用英文描述。
01 Mature/ Ripe
這一個詞可以表示「成熟」的意思，Mature一般是用來描述人，而Ripe則更多指水果與蔬菜的成熟。mature有時也可以用作描述食物：
➤ Mature/Matured Cheese 熟起司
➤ Immature 不成熟的
➤ Childish 孩子氣的、幼稚的
02 Sophisticated/ Experienecd
這兩個詞都可以表示「老練的」，但Sophisticated與Experienced相比更注重教育背景上的學識豐富，而不只是經驗的積累。
03 Old Hand/ Veteran
以上這兩個詞就是我們所說的「老手」了，其中Veteran還有老兵的意思，其實就是形容在某一領域經驗豐富的人。

01 Novice
最基礎的一個單詞就是Novice，可以譯為「新手、初學者」
➤ I’m a novice at these things. You’re the professional. 這些事情我是新手，你是行家。
02 Rookie/ Noob/ Newbie
這三個詞都可以表示新手、菜鳥的意思，其中Newbie在中文中可能會有些發音上的歧義。當外國朋友說你是「Newbie」的時候，可千萬不要理解為是在誇自己哦。
➤ Jan is a rookie/ noob/ newbie at making bread.
簡做蛋糕是個新手。
大家的朋友圈都被刷屏了嗎？那「刷屏"用英語該如何表達呢？
刷屏有很多種，這裡就討論朋友圈的刷屏，即頻繁發狀態。
狀態 - status n. [ˈstetəs] 或 [ stætəs]
更新 - update n. v.
朋友圈 - moments n.
➤His status updates are all over my moments.
他發的狀態把我的朋友圈刷屏了。
給朋友圈發布的狀態點讚有兩種表達。
01 give ... a like / thumb-up
➤I ll give that a like.
我要去給那點個讚。
➤I ll give him a thumb-up. （[θʌm ʌp]）
我要給他點個讚。
02 hit the like button
點擊點讚按鈕
➤Please hit the like button if you learn something.

很多人在童年就進入了不惑之年；
even many of you in childhood sensed your sensitivity fade into sensibility,
不惑於自己喜歡什麼，不喜歡什麼。

人與人之間的壁壘被打破，

你們只憑相同的愛好，
Only by virtue of the same hobbies, can
就能結交千萬個值得乾杯的朋友，

注釋：
① 標題Rising Waves暗含過程性動態哲學思維。Rising一詞強調浪花湧起的動作過程。中文原詞中不管是「後」浪還是「前」浪，側重時間先後順序，強調結果狀態，是結束性靜態哲學思維。什麼年齡段算是青年人？聯合國世界衛生組織認為，44歲以下為青年人，45歲至59歲為中年人。隨著我國乃至全球人均壽命不斷增長，在中年人甚至更年長的人心中，勢必對青年這一概念有著另一方解讀。他們始終還駐守著一顆年輕的心，認為自己或許不是前浪，也不會甘心作為前浪而被後浪拍死在沙灘上。所以，他們時刻準備著洶湧，準備rising奮起拼搏，而不是甘心於falling沉淪。譯文如此處理也間接避免了原中文演講詞中一些歧義和不足之處，比如貶低前浪之嫌和過度強調精英主義思想等。
